Lake, VanMeter, Bechtel, Carnell, and Iser Take home the victories at The Greater Cumberland Raceway

In the Nelson Auto Sales Super Late Models it was Uniontown Pennsylvania’s Michael Lake taking home the checkers. It was Lake’s first appearance of the 2018 season and first win at The Greater Cumberland Raceway. Lake blasted by race long leader Matt Sponaugle with two laps to go and never looked back. Sponaugle would end up second with DJ Troutman in third. Reese Masiello and Wayne Johnson completed the top five.

It was Billy VanMeter picking up his first win of the year in the LaSalle Racing Engines 602 Crate Mod feature event. VanMeter driving the VanMeter Motorsports familiar #17 dominated to take home the win. Andrew Swope finished second followed by Jimmy Iser in third. Scott Daniels and Cameron Campbell rounded out the top five. Read more

Axtell Jr., Hersh, and Troutman take the checkers at The Greater Cumberland Raceway

Glen Burnie Maryland’s Steve Axtell Jr. made a surprise visit to The Greater Cumberland Raceway Saturday night and took home the win in the 20 lap Nelson Auto Sales Super Late Model feature. It was Axtell’s first win at The Greater Cumberland Raceway. Bob Gordon was second with Matt Sponaugle coming home third. Andy Fries and Kirk Baker completed the top five.

In the TC Race Cars Mason Dixon Shootout Series Rumble in the Mountains it was Clinton Hersh picking up the feature win and $1,000 for his efforts. It would be Hersh’s first win in the Mason Dixon Touring Series. Eric Irvin was a close second followed by Jeremy Ohl in third. Shawn Jones and Greg Moore rounded out the top five. Read more
